a few things from this past week.

a. friend OF the Elderly: this is an incredible club @ school that I am part off. well I don't know if officially I am but I always go. so here's the deal. wed. nights we go to this assisted living home where we hang with some seriously amazing elderly folks. honestly...this is the BEST night/time of my life every week.  I can go in angry or stressed and I come out feeling on top of the world. i love the hilarious people there. for instance there's this darling gentleman, Don, he is hilarious. he kind of reminds me of what I think my dad will look like/act at that age. I just love chatting it up with him. Then there's Evelyn, who is a doll!! Last week she asked if I could help her figure out her computer to which i said of course! She is darling! There is a married couple there too who I think are amazing & I want to be like them someday. Each time I learn something new about the people or myself. It's so uplifting to be with people who have lived through so much. I hope everyone can take the time to value those who have lived before us & who we can learn so much from.

two: baptism. I can vaguely remember my baptism. I can remember various baptisms I went to with my mom for people in our ward growing up. Since I've moved out and graduated high school I don't think I've been to a baptism. today i attended one. that of my cute little roommate. she was really struggling at the beginning of this school year and began dating a way nice kid in our ward. then bam before you know it she's getting baptized. the entire thing was so amazing. the spirit was truly present & I won't lie I was shedding some tears. I am so extremely happy for her. I hope I can be a great example to her & that she will stick with it the rest of her life.

C: so I love my calling right. I feel so right and great about it. It's exactly what I've been looking for for so long. this past thursday we had a training meeting for all our girls. and out of my  6 girls only 2 came. that was not the best. now I get to set up another training meeting for next week. this is what I mean when i say it's stressful. However, I am not complaining about it because I know that the Lord knows what's going on and he will do what is necessary. I was waaaay down and overwhelmed on Monday night I think it was? Girls hadn't been called, we didn't have any needed info for my roommates baptism and school and everything was just way intense. I won't lie I was pretty down and worried and honestly go figure the Lord goes and makes everything perfect and works it out. why do I doubt when I know things will be fine. this calling is changing my life I know it & I can feel it.I really hope I can get these girls to understand their importance and to let the girls in my ward know how much they are loved. here's to a great year with a wonderful calling.

finally...i only have 4 more weeks of classes then I am in a classroom full time. it's going to be crazy & I'm nervous & scared & excited. also I talked to adrea & we decided that if I'm not dating anyone/no prospects we are most likely going to move to Tennessee or somewhere down South to get a change of scenery. the end.
a possibility.

sigh...miss these people every hour of every day. love my camp family so so much.

toys of my childhood.

I won't lie I had some awesome toys when I was little. What were they? Well let's start with the famous cabbage patch dolls. I will never forget I had one that filled with water and squirted out through her feet and stuff. What happened you ask, well my older sister decided to chop off her hair one day. But I will never stop loving Erin my awesome doll. I used to play with her all the time!

Gentita. That's what we called them thanks to my awesome mom! We LOVED to play with our 'little people'. We had tons of them and would play with them for hours. I will never forget them and I hope my kids will be playing with them too. My favorite was the teacher.
Let see I also will admit I LOVED to play with my barbies. I had Little Mermaid ones, Brandon from 90210, and tons more even a classic Ken. We spent hours playing with them and I won't lie I enjoy playing with them even today.

Of course when we were little we also played with everything from Trolls,  Pokemon, Care Bears, Pogs and so much more. Below are pictures of some of my favorites.

homi had me play with him all the time.

mine looked EXACTLY like this.

LOVED my polly pockets!!

care bears!!

ahhh music. the love of my life.

here's the scoop. I'm putting my Ipod on shuffle & recording the first 10 songs that play so here we go...
1. Halo: Bethany Joy Lenz: this song is amazing. she has the most unique beautiful voice. if you haven't heard it
you are missing out.

2. Forever Young: Youth Group- this song was on here from my sister & I really like it. it's great.

3. Get if Faster: Jimmy Eat World: I mean really if you don't like Jimmy Eat World shame on you.

4. Your Call: Secondhand Serenade: beautiful. that's all I have to say about this song.

5. Wanna Grow Old With You: Adam Sandler: this is a classic & adorable.

6. Just Want You to Know: Backstreet Boys: ahhh LOVE them! their new stuff is actually not bad.

7. 15: Taylor Swift: not my favorite song of hers but it takes me back to my high school days for sure. It has a good point too.

8. I Need Thee Every Hour: really such a beautiful song. I LOVE hymns and one of my favorites is a version
of Come Thou Fount.

9. Breathe: Taylor Swift again: i love this song. It's got Colbie Caillat and it's so beautiful & simple & real

10. Supermassive Black Hole: Muse: every since Twilight I enjoy their music and this song is pretty great.

i love music. so ridiculously much I think it's almost a problem. it's wonerful. the end.

quite the dinner.

Okay here's a topic. "If you could invite 10 people, dead or alive, to dinner who would it be & what would the menu be?"

So here are the 10 peeps I'd loooooveeee to have dinner with. Reasoning is not going to be available cause I
don't want to write that much.
1. Joseph Smith/ Emma Smith (they count as one)
2. President Hinckley
3. Justin Bieber : )
4. George Washington
5. Eleanor Roosevelt
6. Tim McGraw
7. Captain Moroni
8. Prince Harry
9. Albert Einstein (he'd be amusing I think)
10. My grandpa's Jerry & Nicolas

the menu for this fiesta (because seriously it would be more of a sweet get together/party rather than a fancy dinner). I'm thinking Cafe Rio would cater because their food is delish. And for dessert there would be a buffet of everything from a chocolate fountain to cheesecake to cookies to fancy gourmet desserts. thats all. oh and this 'get together' will happen someday aka: once we're all in heaven. i plan to have all these people over to get to know them.

what a manly man!

yup I love  me some Bieber.

one of my heroes.

what a woman!

have a wonderful week.

ahh the life of a college student.

okey doke. so here's the scoop on this past week. and boy oh boy it was a crazy one. It was homecoming week up here this past week so it was full of activities and good times.
lets start with Monday. that was the day of the paint dance. So I went to class, did some homework &
met up with Nicole to help paint the street for her college of Social Work. It was pretty fun and I've never
been up there for that so it was cool to see lots of people and have a good time. From there we headed to
the 'paint dance' for a bit. It was mostly watered down but it was still way fun I thought. We saw a gal
pass out, we saw a crazy man with goggles dancing it up and we got pushed and shoved around. the best
part? when we were walking out some kid walked by me and put a hand print of real paint on my face
haha. I smeared some on Nicole & we headed to the Village and met up with Christy & her
friend Trevor. I won't lie I looked ridiculous and meant to take a picture to capture that moment but spaced
   it. shoot.

Tuesday: School oh school...I'm not a fan sometimes ya know. That day was low key and lovely just
hanging out and all that jazz.

Wednesday: more school...ugh. I hate my 3 hour classes they kill me! Anywho so I headed home and was
going to head to FOE (friends of the Elderly) at which point I managed to lock my keys in my
bedroom. I had to call ol Dave Walker who brought me a master & I managed to make it in time
for some Bingo still. From there Nicole, Ryan & I headed to try & get into watch Mr. USU. I've never been and was pretty excited but the line was crazzzzy long. needless to say....we didn't make the cut.
So we went to Wingers to get some foodsies. Christy came & met up with us. that's not the best part. the best part was our waiter. let me introduce you to Raymond Brett Johnson III. Well that's the name
he gave anyways. he was the best waiter I've ever had. He was funny & gave us a free dessert card even though we didn't guess the riddle right away. then he brought Christy some ice cream. When we
were done he asked if we wanted dessert & told us it was free dessert day. When Christy tried to pay for her ice cream OH who knew it was free dairy day too! Best night there ever. i left him a great thank
      you note.

Thursday: Welll thank goodness no class! I went to institute & then headed home to get ready for out awesome RS activity. I went and got the food for it. Then went to try and do some visits with Mindy. We then went & loaded up 4 canoes, drove up to second Dam and began our adventure. It was a successful and fun activity. Following that I loaded up canoes again, unloaded a few canoes @ Mindy's house, got Chick Fil A for Jared + free ice cream. THEN I finally went to sleep.
Friday: welp lets see. Friday I slept in slightly and then got up to clean & run a couple errands. I went to an opening mixer @ Jared's apartment that was Mexican themed! woot woot! Then I headed up to the Quad with Lindsey, Julia & their roomies + Jared to hang and watch this kissing chain world record. It was a fun night but pretty dang cold. I made it home to sleep about 3 amish. and the week continues... here are a few pics.

hanging on the quad. watching the kissing chain & freezing a little bit.

so grateful to know & work with these gals!

relief society activity! woot woot!

Mindy is fantastic!

that's right folks. it's official. the beenie weenie CAN successfully carry a canoe on top!

roastin some dogs. hot dogs that is.

top comfort foods. mmmmmm

it's no secret that i LOVE food. all kinds of it. If I had my choice I would be a chef or a baker in a bakery. I love to cook and try new foods. My favorite channel is the food network and I'm determined to own a bakery someday. so trust me I  know a lot about foods and I of course have some favorite comfort foods.

-chocolate: i mean really need I say more? chocolate ALWAYS makes things feel better. Chocolate anything too whether it's candy, brownies, cake, ice cream, hot chocolate, chocolate syrup, mousse, I mean I can't get enough.

-pizza: I don't know why but pizza/pasta always are my top picks. I love Italian food and I can't wait to go to Italy someday to try some authentic types.

-Milkshakes: tasty, cool, thick and refreshing. I love a good strawberry milkshake. Always a favorite comfort food.

-finally: who doesn't love some fried foods right? Jalapeno poppers, corn dogs, etc. super tasty but SUPER bad for you.

top 5 pet peeves.

just like anyone out there I have some pet peeves. I mean who doesn't right? Welp here are mine & why.

numero 1: people who walk really really slow. I have small legs sure so I take smaller steps and all growing up in high school with my friends who are tall I always walked faster to keep up. Now I don't know if that's why I hate people that walk slow or what. All I know is when I'm walking, you better not be taking your sweet time especially if I'm hurrying to class, hurrying home, or in a store trying to get in and out. I mean really guys let's walk just a little faster. That's not to say I don't enjoy walking slow every now and then to enjoy the roses but man sometimes the slow makes me nuts.

2: people who are downright rude. I HATE people who think they are better than others and are so rude. It drives me nuts! I mean how hard is it to say hello or thank you or please!? Everyone in this world is working hard and going through stuff, the least we can do is be kind to each other. So all those people who think they are better than anyone else and won't give them the time of day need to stop it and just be nice ugh!

Number 3:  people whoever it is that sticks their gum under tables, chairs and on the ground that I step in. It's disgusting. I mean REALLY how hard is it to flick that gum in the trash? And for that matter how hard is it to put any trash in the can instead of on the street? People are so lazy it kills me. Please throw your gum away so I don't have to spend an hour picking it off my shoes. ewww.

numero 4: people that complain and complain about trivial things and don't do anything to chnage it.

number 5: motion sensor sinks in bathrooms. HATE THEM. sorry I'm trying to wash my hands but having to sit there and awkwardly move my hands around with soap on them is not fun. I have decided they are my enemy. that's all.

something I'm proud of in the past little while.

mmmm there are lots of things we can be proud of. The past little while I'm proud of the following
- that I haven't bitten all my nails off
-that I've kept up with my schoolwork
-for keeping up on my compassionate services calling

short term goals.

I won't lie, I've never been the best at keeping all those goals we take the time to write down. I usually see mine as guidelines & if I hit them then awesome & if not, then there's next time. Here are some of my goals for the remainder of this year.

- Pass all my classes: I am taking 6 classes that are a lot harder than I expected. I only have
weeks of classes this semester so let's hope I can make it through so I can graduate next
      Spring.

-Go on a date: now now I know this may not seem like an important goal or may seem silly to
many but believe me it's a goal I must accomplish before I go crazy.

-Finish the Doctrine & Covenants: Currently this is the book I'm reading so I need to work on
my priorities & get it done. It's been amazing so far. Goal is to finish before the end of the
year so I can start a different book when the new year starts.

-Get healthier: this is always in the back of my mind. I want to be healthier in eating &
exercising which I never really do anything about. So here's to making better choices. Good
news is I always take the stairs  so I think that helps in it's own little way.

-Fulfill my calling to the best I can: I am the compassionate services coordinator. It's kind of
the most intense calling I've ever had. I feel very blessed to have it & I'm excited to
do the  best I can with it.

to be continued....

today is superhero day!

sooo while I don't read comics or anything I do still have some favorite super heroes. thanks to the amazing Smallville...one of those is Clark Kent or Superman! He can fly, shoot fire from his eyes, run super fast and he's super strong. How amazing are those super powers? Not to mention how gorgeous he is! I love everything about superman the Smallville version & the comic book version.
mmm love it.
Another superhero I love is also from Smallville, but the only reason I love this guy is because of the handsome man who plays him. Yup I'd take some Oliver as Green Arrow anyday!
yup he pulls off the green leather

And finally....who does not love some Batman? I watched Batman when i was little and I love it mostly because of his awesome symbol. Also when Christian Bale plays him. Aaaahh the supeheroes of today being played by gorgeous men. I love it.

woooeeee what a week,

Okay seriously. I am having the craziest, most stressful week. sighhhh. I am longing desperately to be laying on a warm sandy beach somewhere with a good book...able to swim, nap, eat whenever. so here's the scoop on the crazy times in summer's life this week. Lets start with Monday's schedule shall we? It all started with an 8:30 am language arts class that wasn't too bad except our instructor doesn't feel the need to tell us everything we need to know which drives me nuts. From there I headed home and did some homework due tuesday before heading to FHE for some socializing/fulfill my calling stuff. I was there until almost 9 and headed home to do more homework/call girls for my committee when the lovely Britt stopped by which was wonderful. Tuesday begins again at 8:30 in the am. I have not one but TWO 3.15 hour classes on tuesdays which makes for a very long day. Complete with doing a kindergarten assessment then heading home to do even more homework for the next day which means missing my IWA chapter I want to attend, but am too tired too go too.

Wednesdays mimic tuesdays except these days I have math...which i HATE. During my break I went and got books for a science lesson I have to do Wednesday afternoon I headed to Walmart to get a couple little things where, since my brain was fried, I misplaced my wallet, started crying and luckily it was found. I headed home exhausted and headed to Friends of the Elderly w/ the amazing Nicole. That was the highlight of my week. Those people make me feel like a million bucks! After that...welp more homework. Finally today thursday...I head to Institute ya know doing the righteous thing, embarrass myself in front of a cute guy and then head home for a quick snack before a drive up Logan Canyon to spend 2 hours teaching little 4th graders about Wildlife for a class. Head home and spend 2 hours doing a lesson plan, and laundry...which turned out to be worse when I got it out than got it in. I spend an hour or more trying to fix it and I'm praying it comes out clean.

Instead of more homework I'm going to blog, eat something other than a cookie and then go to sleep. Ready for a 3 hour workshop tomorrow and more homework. That might not seem like much but along with the above goes everyday items like trying to eat, getting mail, cleaning always, laundry, trying to do social things to find a hubby, getting things going for my Compassionate Service Coordinator calling and sleep. I am not complaining, just getting it off my chest. I know I am so lucky, ridiculously blessed and I will enjoy life as much as I can. Here's to getting through the next 5 weeks without too much injury. It's a crazy life but I will love it and be thankful I am living it.

a place I've been.

I really loved the trip I took to Florida with my sister & brother. It was a very different scene than what we see in the West & I loved the chance to travel to the south/east-ish.

the baddest habit.

1-biting my nails. I've been doing SO great at not biting them and I LOVE the way they look when they grow out. But I still bite some of them down from time to time so I've almost kicked the habit but not quite sadly. I am working on it though and as soon as I get them to a pretty decent length I will reward myself with a manicure.
